Community Interest Company

 Declaration

Beneficiaries

We declare that the company’s activities will provide benefit to the local community around Cardigan Bay and the surrounding areas of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, aiming to be inclusive, affordable and accessible to all.

This will include families and individuals, including vulnerable sectors of the community, as well as local community support organisations, community groups, local businesses, schools, playgroups, charities and social enterprises that have an interest in engaging with elements of nature based learning and experience.

The company’s activities will also provide benefit to people visiting the area, which will help to promote the company’s practices and ethos further afield.

In addition to providing these benefits to various user groups, Elemental Adventures also aims to provide meaningful, enjoyable and secure employment for its staff.

We believe that it is important to keep the Welsh cultural heritage alive and present.  We are currently working towards incorporating the Welsh language into our home education sessions and will post updates on this in our newsletter.  The website will be available in Welsh later this year.

We aim for our activities to be accessible to all and are constantly working on increasing the accessibility of our activities and venue.

Activities & Related Benefits

Promote nature based learning and experiences through workshops, events and community building activities.

The activities aim to provide opportunity for a healthier lifestyle, encouraging access and connection to the natural world.  Through education and involvement, participants are encouraged to practice activities that build skills and confidence and are sustainable and healthy for both people and the environment.

E.g. a woodland parent and toddler group, outdoor kids clubs, family bushcraft weekends, seasonal celebrations and nature-based therapy sessions for mental health groups and charities.

Promote ecological awareness and restoration.

Activities will aim to improve ecosystems, provide access to natural spaces and increase biodiversity.  They will provide opportunity to gain and improve skills in traditional and new ways of working with natural resources.

These activities will give people the opportunity to develop a more sympathetic attitude towards maintaining organic and diverse ecosystems for people and nature, helping to build a more resilient and secure community.

E.g. sustainable woodland management; managing wetlands for biodiversity; traditional hedge laying; small scale horticulture and forest gardens.

Building links with and within the local community, such as existing social enterprises, charities, schools and community groups.

Through developing ongoing events, such as parent and toddler groups, nature based therapy sessions and workshops with schools, we will be involving existing groups to build links between different sectors of the community.  This helps to strengthen communities by facilitating a supportive network.

To teach traditional, heritage, land based skills and crafts.

In a time of increased mechanisation and technology, old skills are being lost.   By reviving and preserving old and often more sustainable practices, we hope to give employment to local craftspeople to teach their skills and increase awareness and enthusiasm for the useful skills.  This will mean more chance of young people staying in rural areas and more likelihood of rural communities supporting small, local enterprise.
