Forest School Sessions
“We have such a brief opportunity to pass on to our children our love for this Earth, and to tell our stories. These are the moments when the world is made whole. In my children's memories, the adventures we've had together in nature will always exist.”
Richard Louv

These sessions are designed for families who home educate or unschool their children. A chance to get outdoors for skill sharing, connection and relaxation.
There will be some structured activities such as:

• Fire-lighting
• Bug hunting
• Den building
• Assault courses
• Nature arts and crafts
• Campfire cooking
• Tree climbing
• Singing and music
• Tool use
• Conservation

These are mostly child-led sessions and we encourage families/carers to follow their child’s interests. We will be including children in the design of sessions and projects. Please bring a packed lunch along with you.

We offer places for children aged 0-13 years at £6 per child, £4 for first sibling, £3 for second sibling, babes in arms are free. Maximum 3 children per adult. Adults are free.

There is a compost toilet onsite and hot and cold hand washing with soap dispensers. We ask that attendees manage their social distancing and be aware of other people's space.

ONLINE BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL!

Forest school is all about playing and learning outdoors in all weathers. We have a tarp and shelters for rain and cold. However, there are certain weather conditions that will affect the running of our Forest School. Staff will stay informed of the weather conditions via the Met Office website. We will always try to give 24 hours notice of closure, however we may need to cancel on the day if weather changes suddenly / overnight. We will inform families by email of any cancellation. In the event that a regular session is cancelled or cut short due to weather, refunds or a replacement session will be given if the customer has had a previous regular session with us cancelled within the same month.

We currently have over 50 children on our waiting list, which means that it may take a rather long time before you can attend a session. If you are interested in visiting us, please sign up for a Wellbeing in the Woods day so you can meet us and see the woods.
